The Cheap Solution to having Fantastical Eyebrows: Let Me Guide You on Your Way to Thread Your Eyebrows at Home

Ladies never spend money to have your eyebrows waxed again! Say goodbye to the days of spending hours painfully plucking your eyebrows. Men don't feel left out, you too can join the secret squirrel mission to get rid of that uni-brow without leaving the house ;-) Maybe you've heard of threading, maybe you haven't but that's okay; I am here now to show you the way. For those of you out there in internet land that might not know what threading is, I'll tell you; threading is a process of hair removal using...thread. Just to answer your next question...yes, I think that it does hurt a little bit but it isn't as bad a plucking and may take longer than waxing but you'll still have the top layer of skin attached to your face.

First I would like to run some figures by you so you can grasp the amount of money you could save yourself. Maybe you could save all that dough and splurge on the more permanent hair removal treatments out there so you'll never have to worry about your eyebrows ever again ;-)

To get your eyebrows professionally waxed it costs an average of $10.00 a week. People that it is $40.00 a month; $480.00 a year.More than that if you go to the higher end salons to get it done.

Waxing your eyebrows at home via home waxing kits probably only costs $5.00 to $45.00 every couple of months but that is still around $30.00 to $270.00 a year.

Eyebrow razors cost about $10.00-$15.00 for a set of 3 and you have to replace them every month. So that is about $120.00 to $180.00 a year.

Eyebrow tweezers can cost anywhere from $1.00 to $15.00 and you have to buy a new set every time you lose it and spend hours plucking your eyebrows.

Threading costs can be done for free using the thread from your sewing kit that you already have at home.

Step-by-Step Guide to Threading at home:

1. Open your sewing kit and get a spool of thread. Thin, strong thread like a nylon type spool works best.

2. Cut up to a 17" to 22" piece off of the spool.

3. Tie it in a knot.

4. Make a loop and lace your fingers through the thread like you are going to play cat's cradle.

5. Twist the thread in the center, so that you make a bow tie shape.

6. Go to the mirror and place the center of the bow tie in the area where you would like to remove hair. Follow your natural brow arch when removing your hair.

7. If you open your right hand it will remove the hair on the left side of the twists in the thread loop...if you open your left hand it will remove the hair on the right side of the twists in the thread loop.

I have found some really good tutorial on YouTube to help give you a visual before you start threading your eyebrows yourself. Hope this helps save you money and sporting fantastical eyebrows ;-)
