Guest Writer, Chase Dillicuse with "Lie to me"

I haven't posted anything new in the last couple of days; I apologize for the absence. I was learning a little about HTML. There is a lot for me to learn. I have been trying to update the page by adding menus and widgets by HTML. I am going to attempt to script a custom template one day. Not today though. I wonder if there was a way to create a kind if “sticky” for a page.

So enough about me, I would like to introduce a guest writer today. His name is Chase Dillicuse. Chase is a native of Washington State and wrote the piece that he would like to share with us today in 2005. It is entitled, "Lie to myself". This poem was written by Chase Dillicuse and he granted me permission to share this poem on Impulse Imagination.

'Lie to Me"
Written By: Chase Dillicuse

I wish to cry, to drown myself until distinction is gone
Forever into blackness, ever reaching into eternity
Light shines forth bringing with it new hope,
Exposure of lies I, myself believed
Controlling the outcome, no longer deceived

Come out little demons, show yourselves to me
Little horns, jagged teeth
Disguising but somehow comforting
I see now what was cleverly hidden
These little creatures, they do as I would have them bidden

Corruption, deceit, jealousy,
Erosion of my sanity
Taking hold, going to blackness once again
Then knowing with comfort
That I had really never left
